I found a computer in the street, left out for the rubbish. When you turn it on, it asks for passwords etc, as it looks like it was used in an internet cafe.
I don't have a windows cd, so am thinking of installing linux on it. Any advice?

Wow. I went skydiving today. It's been a long time since I feared for my life and I was shaking a bit when we landed. IT was, however, quite amazing. I was IN THE SKY. FLYING (sort of).

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I am in love with my breadmaker.
Much like people apparently watched washing machines, I watch the breadmaker do its little creepy robot dance with my dough, in complete fascination, awe, and a smidgen of pride.
I have a lovely white loaf. The brown one was ok, but the white ones are easiest. Only complaint so far is that there is a slight aftertaste of soap sometimes. I thought it was washing up liquid from when I cleaned it, but it can't be that anymore. Any idea what it is?
Also, when adding rosemary, it seems one needs to add a metric ton of the stuff. No matter how much I put in, it vanishes mysteriously. Hmm, maybe that's the soapy taste this time, though I don't think so.

They played a song on Radio 4 which sounded nice.
EDIT - His voice reminds me of Momus. I need someone with a voice like that for a song I've written, but can't find anyone.

So. Bread doesn't work if you a) you run out of yeast,
and b) put it on the super rapid (90 minute) setting.
Yes, I finally managed to fail with my breadmaker. I did consider eating it anyway, the half-risen lump of dough, because it smelled really nice. But it's too heavy. In the compost it goes.
Will be returning to the shops today for yeast, hopefully in a larger quantity than the piddling amount I got from Whole Foods.
